PUBLICALLY GRATEFUL: HOW A SIMPLE TWO-MINUTE ROUTINE CAN CHANGE THE WORLD AROUND YOU ONE MOMENT AT A TIME – march 24
WHAT: Led by Antonia Montoya, MS, CHES. ”In May 2011 my life was thrown into a boiling vat of uncertainty when I was dumped by my life partner. Sad, broke and afraid I called in backup to distract me with conversation, food and Cinco de Mayo happy hour festivities. When I arrived home, overwhelmingly alone, the pungent smell of Russian Olive blooms brought me out of my head and into the moment. I went inside and posted this on Facebook: Today I’m grateful for the support of my loving friends and family … The warmth of the sun on my skin … The intoxicating smell of Russian olive blooms. A daily practice was born that evening; one that would go on to improve my life and the lives of many who are touched by the wake of positivity.” Please . www.changeisyours.com

Are there skills that you are using but they give you no satisfaction? Does your job leave you too exhausted to find time for the artistic process? Do you hate the 8-5 existence even if you are comfortable financially or does the random nature of freelancing leave you yearning for and stability? Now 14 years later with continual development, the ensemble has performed a real-time score to the classic 1932 silent film Peter Pan (4 screenings/4 versions), performed at the Georgia O’Keeffe museum in Santa Fe; “playing” the photographs of Edward Weston; performed a concert “playing” the book – 1”=25 Miles, by Sumner Carnahan; recorded a score for the film The Burden Carriers, by Pierre Barrera; and created a sound score for Theater Grottesco’s Wenomadmen. OOC has released 4 critically acclaimed CD’s and contributed several new signs and gestures to the Conduction Lexicon. The ensemble is J.A.
